Livia Hemlock

Livia Smythe, née Livia Hemlock, was the wife of Aleister Smythe and the mother of his only known son.

Meet-Cute Among Specters

Not much is currently known about Livia's background, other than that she is some form of shape-shifter, and Aleister met her while working for the Fraternity of Shadows in Sithicus. Although they were polar opposites, with Livia being a vivacious trickster who thoroughly enjoyed life, she and Aleister fell in love and were married.

Meet the Smythes

Livia was a loyal and loving spouse, and helped advance Aleister's career through her greater skill in the social arena. It is known that she and Aleister truly made each other happy, especially when Livia became pregnant and gave birth to a son; Aleister was giving serious consideration to leaving the Fraternity altogether so he could devote himself completely to his family.

And then one morning their baby was dead; poisoned with some unknown compound by an unidentified hand.

Hemlock Again

Livia was crushed by her child's death. She was convinced the baby had been murdered as a 'warning shot' from the Fraternity, a sign that they knew she was not human. Although it further broke her heart and Aleister begged her to stay with him, she left for an unknown destination in the belief that this was the only way she could keep him safe.
