First mentioned in the Wartorn Gazetteer Volume II: Conquista[1], the Lady of the Plains is a Loa who is worshiped in the domain of Conquista, especially in the arid middle cantón. This Loa is to that dry and deadly land as the Maiden of the Swamp is to the swampland of Souragne; its embodiment and its champion.
The Lady is quick to punish those who are foolish and unprepared, visiting them with death at a moment's notice. On the other hand, she (grudgingly) blesses those who are hardy, clever and prepared. She knows all the secrets of her land, both those that uphold life and those that take it away, and every creature of the arid lands is sacred to her.
Appearance
Depictions of the Lady of the Plains show her as a thin, sun-darkened woman dressed in a robe of sun-bleached cotton. She goes barefoot through the worst desert, her only possession apart from her robe a waterflask given to her as a present by fellow Loa Papa Fleuve.
