Kobolds are described in Domains of Dread as being found in the the following areas of the northern Core:
- Dementlieu[1][2], small community, in hills bordering Lamordia.
- Darkon[3][4] in the Mountains of Misery.
Kobolds can also be encountered in Barovia and Invidia (particularly the regions that were formerly Gundarak[7]), as well as the domains of Borca[8] and Kartakass[9][10].
Outside of the Core, kobolds are also found in G'Henna.[11][12] Some have joined the bandits led by the Jackal. Another band lives in The Frying Pan and is allied with the elven mage Valuan.[13]
The most infamous kobold, if kobold he actually be, is the Basilisk, leader of the Spawn of the Lizard, a troop of kobolds in eastern Falkovnia who are resisting the rule of Drakov.[14]
