James Martigan is a wealthy resident of Mordentshire. He acts as a patron for adventurers, monster hunters, and those who oppose the evil and supernatural.[1]
James Martigan has experienced much tragedy in his life. Martigan's wife Megan Martigan died of disease when their daughter Sara Martigan was still a child. His daughter Sara Martigan lost the love of her life, Daniel Sherwood, to a horse-riding accident. In her grief, she fell victim to the Phantom Lover despite the intervention of Dr. van Richten. His experiences have left James Martigan with the ultimate hope of finding champions to destroy the Phantom Lover and rescue his daughter's soul.[2]
