Fincher Blackstock was a Tepestani farmer whom beat his rival Jack MacGreggor to a bloody pulp and left him for dead tied to his own scarecrow. However, MacGreggor rose again as a dread scarecrow to avenge his death. Blackstock was financially ruined when Raggedy Jack caused an invasion of rats and mice onto his farm. A broken man, Blackstock returned to the site of MacGreggor's murder to apologize, only to be surprised the scarecrow accepting his apology before breaking his neck.[1]
