Vampires with this salient ability have the Frightful Presence special ability. A trigger for a given vampire's Frightful Presence might be one of any number of actions, but the ability is activated usually when the vampire attacks.[1][2] The 2nd Edition equivalent of this special ability would be Fear Aura.[3]
