Ejrik Spellbender is the primary villain of the Cedar Chest Module. He operates out of Armeikos.
Following a magic jar disrupted by the Dark Powers, Ejrik Spellbender became a disembodied spirit housed (and trapped) in the body of another person. His life force and his heart are trapped in the Cedar Chest. Deprived of the ability to experience pleasure save for in murder, Ejrik became a serial killer.[1] His victims include Thea Gyntheos and Eron Nalwand.[2]

Background
Ejrik Spellbender was a debauched hedonist until he felt himself succumbing to old age. Ejrik turned to necromancy to extend his life. He lured a hero to his lair with random attacks from his undead minions. Once the target was in his sight, he used a modified magic jar spell with the intent of permanent body possession.[1]
However, Ejrik's vileness caught the attention of the Dark Powers, who drew him into the Land of Mists and corrupted his magic jar. Most of his spells and spellcasting were stripped away, save for his Sleep Spell, as was his ability to experience pleasure. The only way he could find sensual fulfillment was murder, so he became a serial killer. His magic jar also shoved Ejrik's life force into his heart. Meanwhile, Ejrik's consciousness was trapped within his host, unable to control the host save for when the host was asleep.[1]
Ejrik leaves notes at the scene of each of his crimes[3], making him a signature killer in addition to being a serial killer. Two of his victims were Thea Gyntheos, his former love[4], and Eron Nalwand, a mage whom didn't cooperate when Ejrik demanded help following his botched magic jar.[5] He may also have killed Alisia and her bodyguard Carl.[6]

After his heart was destroyed, Ejrik died, but he rose again as an Odem. Still unhappy with the inability to control his host when they are awake, Ejrik suspects that the Alchemist could create him a soulless body that he could possess and call his own.[7]
Ejrik has become a Demilord of Liffe.[8]
