Djorji Herne is a cursed darkling. He was a young alchemist from a Kamii tribe, but he was lonely. He fell in love with a beautiful maiden from Fallaya, though she had no time for a gypsy. In his bitterness and obsession, he searched deep within the swamps to find the ingredients he needed to create a love potion. The Swamp Shambler also longed for the young woman, and tainted the ingredients Djorji had found. The potion was crafted and given to the young maiden ... and transformed her into a beautiful fish. The maiden's father went into a rage and began a crusade to kill and drive out the gypsies in Fallaya.
The matriarch of Djorji's clan cursed the alchemist for the lives of his clan that had been lost. Forever Djorji would hunt for his beautiful maiden, from sunrise to sunset as a heron, and from sunset to sunrise as a man.
Djorji holds a hatred for the Shambler, and for his tribe, and now searches for the ingredients he needs to cure his affliction, as well as to find his young maiden ... before he hunts and kills her as a heron. [
