A university is not a building. Or at least is not usually just one building. And would it be a community?Cure 17:43, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
yeah, I realized this was a little questionable. Community is not a bad one, especially considering the RLDMG's discussion of creating communities and its example of the Rue des Pistolets, which is a neighborhood in a larger community. I don't know if its worth having a category of some sort for multi-building compounds/campuses, owned by a single entity. (I wasn't sure how to classify estates, for example). That seems to be a bit different than a neighborhood of multiple shops and homes owned by disparate people. Then of course the question arises if castles, keeps and the like are single buildings or compounds. Most have stuff like stables, smithies, and other outbuildings. This was a can of worms I wasn't ready to open. So I called University a building. :) -- Gonzoron 16:17, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
On estate at least I would say Category:Property.
Castle vs. university actually sheds some light on the matter. I think that seeing a castle as a single structure and building is fine. In the case of university, there is not necessarily a central building domainating/containing the rest. Equally, the sense of university is far less tied down to structure/building, making the gap much more apparent.Cure 15:47, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
OK, I've put all universities and schools in community for now. One could try to separate out the Society/Organization aspect of school as group of people vs. the Community/Location aspect of the schoolhouse/school grounds/campus. But I don't think it's worthwhile for the wiki. -- Gonzoron 15:54, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
