We have stats for them via RoD? Do those square with the Ravenloft idea of them. How are they, really, different from Caliban. We have 2e stats in Ravenloft?Cure 05:33, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Yes, they are a playable race in RoD. Their stats are a pretty good update of the 2e stats. The flavor text doesn't really apply to RL's mongrelmen, but that's OK. The 2e stats were from the Monstrous Manual, not any Ravenloft book. In other words, they are a general D&D monster that Ravenloft gave a particular flavor to, but that flavor would be different on other worlds. They are quite different from calibans, in that they are a mishmash of different races, not a warped version of human. Stats-wise, they get a +4 Con bonus instead of +2 strength and have even worse Cha than Calibans. But they get a bunch of interesting features that Calibans don't, including a voice mimicry power that comes straight from 2e. -- Gonzoron 20:54, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
