Dr. Illhousen classifies his patients into two types:

  • The demented, those genuinely suffering from sort of mental illness either of psychological or physical origin
  • The disturbed, patients who suffer similarly to the above, but not from any sort of internal pathology. Rather, they suffer from the malevolent influence of exterior beings of a supernatural level. This primarily is the work of the Nightmare Court.[1]
