At first glance, the domain of Cabo Caridad appears to be abandoned. At the bay (from where most travelers enter the domain), there is an old, rotten galleon that the bay has half swallowed. A nearby clearing reveals a river with a few small, abandoned boats. Further inside there is a lake circled by fields of flowers. Here is the location of a small town named Cabo Caridad.[1]
Life in Cabo Caridad centers largely around a agrarian and egalitarian existence. The town has no leaders but instead shows an informal direct democracy where decisions of collective interest are made through collective collaboration. There are not even any town guard or other officials. Indeed, there is little advantage of great divisions in class or status, or even individuality for that matter. A more subtle absence exists in the language spoken: there is a lack of the pronouns "I" or "me". This is do to the dread but hidden influence of the Reverend.[3]
