Blacker's Hook[1] is a cursed magic item, created in Darkon by Jack Blacker. It is a steel meathook that is a +2 piercing melee weapon that also imporats a small bonus when used for mundane skill or ability checks related to any task for which it could be used as a tool. It also protects the user from Fear and Horror effects, instilling an irrational and consuming courage, significantly improving the user's Strength score.
Blacker's Hook is or at least was at one point stored in the Black Vault.
Curse
A person affected by the hook's courage will become compelled to loudly and proudly boast and brag about it. In addition, the end of every maniacal bout of courage requires the user to make a Madness Save.
