A minor character from the Ravenloft product novel Baroness of Blood, Arman was a peasant shepherd until he became the second alchemical vampire created by Baroness Ilsabet Obour.
Biography
He was the brother of Emory, the stepson of Enrich, and herded sheep. After Ilsabet turned Emory into an alchemical vampire and ordered him to infiltrate the town of Pirie, Emory inadvertently killed Arman in a battle frenzy broth on by a fight with a wildcat. Emory pinned the blame for the death on the wildcat but eventually took the corpse of his dead brother back Ilsabet to be revived in the same way Emory had. Ilsabet reanimated Arman and kept him as part and eventually captain of her personal guard. Arman acted as an informant for Ilsabet, telling her of any transgression he witnessed against her, even complaints, which warranted harsh reprisal upon the transgressors. [1]
As an alchemical vampire, Arman was further removed from his humanity, unable to eat normal food and had to partake of blood more often. Emory assisted him in acquiring prey, though Arman's barbarism in his attacks and consumption repulsed even his fellow alchemical vampire. Starting with Kashi, Arman sometimes took human prey, mostly prisoners, to which Baroness Ilsabet watched and drew strength from the victims fear and pain.[2]
Eventually, the Kislovan people began to notice the effects of the alchemical vampire brothers' hunting. When the continued existence of Arman and Emory outweighed their usefulness, and Lord Jorani killed them both under the orders of Baroness Ilsabet.[3]
Current Sketch
Following Kislova's entrance in to the Demiplane of Dread, sights of Arman and Emory preying upon sheep have started.[4]
