Mordentish (Language)
From Mistipedia
There is some confusion in early canon as to whether Mordentish was faux-French, insofar as it's the language of Richemulot and Dementlieu. Mordentish has two forms, sometimes referred to as Upper and Lower Mordentish or High and Low Mordentish. Lower Mordentish is preferred in Mordent, while Upper Mordentish is preferred in Richemulot and Dementlieu. The language is thus analogous to Anglo-Norman or the perhaps the later Middle English that was combined from old German and old French. Low Mordentish uses compound words common to Old English poetry, known as kennings.
For the dialect in Souragne, see Souragnien.
