The Scions of Purity is a secret society of murderous vigilantes that target homeless beggars exclusively. They were founded by Andre Duvet and consist of his subordinates in the gendarmerie. Duvet blames the local outbreaks of the plague on the beggars and wishes to purify Dementlieu of them.^[1]

Duvet will not call for the death of children under the age of 10; instead he orders his Scions to sedate them with a herbal concoction and ship them off to orphanages across the country.^[2]
