Under 2nd Edition rules effective caster level receives +2 bonus and saving throws suffer a -2 penalty.
There is a floating Crystal Ball in this room, which under 2nd Edition rules could scry on Darklords, unlike most crystal balls. (In 3rd edition, that limitation of crystal balls has been omitted.)
