Rual was a Forfaran druid, and is now a ghost, residing in Forlorn.[1] Following the murder of Tristen ApBlanc's mother Flora ApBlanc, Rual became Tristen's foster mother. Although she knew of his vampiric heritage and took precautions, this ultimately did not save her from Tristen's panicked attack and betrayal when she discovered him feasting up the blood of an animal. Tristen killed Rual and feasted upon her blood, but she had drank many vials of holy water and burned away Tristen's vampiric taint.
