The Endurance was described as being a cross between a galleon and a frigate. It carried a crew of 91 and was armed with ballistae and three catapults. The vessel was haunted by the ghosts of Madeline Stern, Jacob and Charlotte Reisland. It was, as of 734 BC, owned and commanded by Captain Garvyn. He had been cursed by the Dark Powers for dumping overboard the corpses of Madeline, Jacob, and Charlotte which he had been hired to deliver to Todstein. In consequence, the Endurance became the Ship of Horrors and remained so until the curse was broken in 737 BC, whereupon the captain and his vessel were returned to whence they had come beyond the Mists.
