The Priests of Osybus were a cult of necromantic nature that inhabited Death House. Though they ostensibly performed rituals of fiend summoning and necromancy, these rituals were entirely spurious. Apparently they venerated Strahd in some capacity, believing they brought him to the Demiplane of Dread and that he would save them from their cursed natures. Though they sacrificed numerous lives to him on the Death House altar, Strahd did not feel any impulses to help them out.[1]
