Sergei von Zarovich was nobly born to Barov von Zarovich and Ravenia van Roeyen in Prime Material Barovia in 324 BC. He was the younger brother of Sturm and Strahd.[1] He was to be married to Tatyana Federovna in the summer of 351 BC. Strahd, however, coveted his youth and his bride. On the day of the wedding, Sergei was murdered by Strahd, and Tatyana fled Strahd by throwing herself from the walls of Castle Ravenloft.

Jander Sunstar, Leisl, and Sasha Petrovich encountered the undead remains of Sergei in the catacombs beneath Castle Ravenloft in 500 BC. He was guarding the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind, but they destroyed him, allowing his soul to rest.[2]
