Ember was the warhorse for Desmaria Eveningstar. Desmaria rode it on the mission to help Alexi destroy Ebonbane. Ember, along with Ferran Shadowborn, Pitch, and Midnight were the only creatures of Alexi Shadowborn's party to survive the attack on Ebonbane in Shadowborn Manor and walk away from it.[1] 
Given the length fo time the events of that novel occured in Ravenloft's history, Ember is most likely deceased.
