The Valpurleiche is a type of corporeal undead that sometimes forms when an innocent man or woman is wrongfully hanged for a crime they did not commit.[1] Valpurleiche are also know as Valpur'geists', though despite the implications of the latter name, there does not seem to be anything ghostly about them.)
