Otto Krieger is the caretaker of the Hoftmann Hospital, trusted by its administrator Dr. Berthold Hoftmann. However, Otto Krieger is a bitter and corrupt man, having his dreams of earning wealth as one of Baron von Aubrecker's personal guards dashed by physical injury that gave Krieger a permanent limp. Otto covertly sells the bodies of the deceased to Dr. Mordenheim. Worse, he is in league with a Greater Fihyr in the cellar of the hospital he calls the Lurker.[1]
