I'm currently in the proccess of writing a proper review for this game. Still, I thought I should let you all know about it. This scared me. Seriously, this caused the kind of irrational fear I felt the first time I read through "The Color Out of Space" in one sitting, looked out the window, and saw an old well across the street. Halfway through, I stopped playing for the day simply because I couldn't stand doing so without sunlight anymore. It should most likely be priced at a bargain rate, if your local computer games store actually has it. Check it out.

I'd be interested in your review. I downloaded the demo, and while very atmospheric, nothing much is happening. I am prevented from going upstairs, down into the cellar, or out around the grounds. I did read the diary in the parlor, and have checked out all the photos & paintings, cupboards & drawers, the kitchen, bedroom, and bath. I could do the same on a virtual real estate homes tour. I've talked with the guy on the phone several times. Please tell me what happens next...
I only wish I had retired sooner!

I'm in the process of writing a review for this, as well as The Suffering: Ties that Bind, and hoping to pull off some literary necromancy and peice together my review of the origional Suffering from memory. I'm hoping to have that all wrapped up by next Monday, but I was never good with deadlines.
Incidentally, I almost lost count of the number of Lovecraft references in Scratches. There's a picture of C'thulhu in the upstairs hallway for (bleep)'s sake.

Can't say I was too impressed with the demo. Not only was it very limited, but the "point and click" navagation system seemed very remedial.
I've played games that grabbed me from the start and this certainly isn't one of them. "Fatal Frame" for the PS2 now, that is a game worth picking up. Very atmospheric and downright creepy in some places. The only problem I had with that, was the combat could be a bit too heavy. The second game avoided that trap, but wasn't quite as creepy as the first. I've not played the third yet, as my Playstation hasn't been hooked up for some time.
