Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

George will be terrified to hear the sound clicking metal not from the scene of battle, but awfully near to him somewhere in the thick cornfield next to the road...LouisVendredi wrote: "Stay near me, boy" he says quietly as he trains his ears for the sound of enemies.

And the foggy cloud fades...
Two dead dogs lie there, and Yellow Eyes blood-stained cloak... But of him, no track...
Yellow eyes...
Brethana looks at everyone, making sure everyone is ok, and as Yellow Eyes cloak is bloodstained, looks on the ground for a trail of blood.

And the sound seems to wander away, deeper into the fields...LouisVendredi wrote:George puts himself between the boy and the sound of metal, then pulls out his dagger to defend the boy.

As if waking from a very bad dream, Jarryd open his eyes just to find himself inside something that apears to be a barn.
His head aches and spins at the same time. Seems like he has been drinking Tuika all night.
He struggles to stand up, and the headache just gets worse.
Where am I? My scimitar is still in my scabbard.... knife ok, oh and both hands and legs are still there.
Looking arround he recalls a group of adventurers, he recalls a satyr... and mists.... Suddenly he hears a struggle outside. Who is fighting and where is the group that it was with me??
He rushes outside the barn, half curious to know what or who is fighting outside..

And while you others are distracted by other things for a moment...

Suddenly, one of the supposedly dead dogs jumps up, and, transforming into a horrible twisted mixed form of beast and man, plunges on Roland's back, burying his long fangs deep in the magician's left shoulder, and throwing the Dark Brother down!

IC: Roland screams as the beast's jaws close on him, and writhes on the ground beneath it as it bears him to the ground. He gasps out a few words in some arcane tongue*, and suddenly the beast is grappling with--nothing--merely a fog which flows away from him, but which, strangely, does not disperse as it travels to the edge of the cornfield...
*gaseous form DC should be 23, I think? Allow me to step out for a moment and consult my random die-rolling computer friend...

31! Wow. I might actually have made it. Note that I'm not quite sure what Roland's Concentration modifier is, but I think it's +12 (+11 ranks, +1 Con). The continuation of the post assumes success, of course.
