Hello everyone! New board member here, though new to the board, not Ravenloft. I use to lurk here many years ago, but got busy with graduate school and kind of forgot about it. I got my first taste of Ravenloft around 1996 and have ended up running campaigns in the setting for 2nd & 3rd edition, with also running the 3.5 Expedition to Castle Ravenloft and the 5e Curse of Strahd adventures in non-Ravenloft campaign setting games. Right now, I'm currently running a 5e game where I'm doing a bunch of world building. The main continent my PCs are in is generic fantasy/D&D one, but I'm working on another continent they will travel to which is inspired by the Demi-plane of Dread.

welcome, Sarzac! good to see that the demiplane lives on, even when it's serving as inspiration for somewhere else...

Hello, I'm a DM Running the Grand Conjunction in 3.5 format. I started with a couple of warmup adventures that got my group to Souragne (Thirds of Purloined Vellum from Dragon 88, in which they encountered the mysterious carnival owner Master Wu, who is .... well, another time). They encountered the Island of Castanamir in the swamp, intended to be a quickie during vacation time, but, yeh, not. But now they've gotten thru Night of the Walking Dead, and have set off to Port d'Elhour to inform the Mayor how messed up the town and the vast plantaion now is. I've decided to stretch their time out here by using the FoS's Souragne Gazetteer, and sandboxing it. One question tho, the description of the Marche (market), has a Jeweler who is described as Fir-blooded. Is this supposed to mean he has a Firbolg in his ancestry? It's the only explanation I can think of.
Thanks

Fir is one of the breeds of Shadow Fey, with statistics found in Van Richten's Guide to the Shadow Fey. They resemble human infants with big heads and clawed fingers. The more pleasant fir of the Seelie Court are called Tolly-Knocks, and have thinner frames and shiny hair. The Gremlins are fir that side with the Unseelie Court; they are plumper, their skin is grayer, and the only hair they have comes out of warts and moles. The fir are known as great craftsmen, with fondness for clockwork.

First generation descendants of fey are half-fey and gain a +5 Outcast Rating modifier. Second generation descendants are "feytouched," and gain +2 OR. Both have associated templates in the Guide. Third and fourth generation descendants blend in more readily, and may still take special fey-descended feats. I would guess the jeweler is in one of the latter two categories. He might possess the Fir Fingers feat, which would give him thin fingers that are twice as long as they should be (and +1 OR to go with them).

Re: Question about Post editing

Post by Mischief »

So, I was behind schedule owing to the loss of my dad-in-heart, landlord, uncle, and uncle-once-removed all in one summer. I am now ready to start posting docs, but I would like to set up the thread so that the first post is an index with links to all the parts and add links as I continue to post, which I am going to do over time so it isn't a massive deluge. Can I edit my posts latter and if so, is there a time limit or edit limit on your own posts? If so, can I get that restriction removed?

Edit: (Okay, that works for a little bit after you post!) Does anyone know what the character limit for a single post is? [Edit: it's 60,000 chars] The Revised Azalin doc by itself is 70,000 characters long.

Edit2: I noticed lomion.de 2e monster manual now 404s. I have a complete backup of the monster manual and files. Any ideas what I should do with it?

I won't tell you what to do with it for your own use, but please don't post or share it or other copyrighted text here, thanks.

Hi. I just joined, so I don’t have an icon yet. I don’t know that much about Ravenloft, but I’ve read Domains of Dread and a couple old sourcebooks I found online, and I looked through Curse of Strahd at Barnes and Noble. Also, I checked out the Mistway website (this guy Ron’s Ravenloft campaign).

thanks, glad you enjoyed! We were hoping to play the next session sometime this month, but well... you know. Hopefully once all this is over, we can find a time to get together and continue.

Greetings fellow travellers.

I'm a lapsed Ravenloft GM that due to finances, space and time had to release my complete Ravenloft collection may years ago. I find that I can't maintain complete collections of games any more but with the advent of pdf publishing, I find that I can get what I need on my iPad or Fire tablet.

I joined the Ravenloft group on Facebook recently in a bout of nostalgia and enjoyed the odd photo and comments that drifted across the timeline.

I did joke with my friends recently that if I ever returned to the Mist I would run the game with Savage Worlds as I found it's an easy and fun system to run. I have the Horror and Fantasy Companions and feel I could make it work. Less than a week after making that statement to my group I was introduced to the idea of Ravenloft Reincarnated. I've had a read and my heart rejoices with the idea of running the lands of mist again with my friends.

I even ordered the classic boxset re-print from Drivetrhrpg along with Forbidden Lore to get those books in hard copy and my friend has introduced me to a company that will print me a single copy of Ravenloft Reincarnated so I have that along with the other books I have.

So long story short; I'm back and here to stay.

I know it's been a while, but I wanted to say hi again. My name is Yaoi Huntress Earth and I've been a long time Ravenloft fan who has even done some stuff for the Undead Sea Scrolls. Inspired by the Ravenloft stuff done in the Storyteller's Vault, I've decided to try my hand at it. I'd like to do an update on Pharazia (3.5 ed. mentioned that Diamabel is trying to build a religion around himself) and a make-over of Nosos (playing with the idea of industry vs nature, showing the worst of both sides).
