I know the struggles of the (good) DM are usually not even comprehended by most players. I had a player of mine return from abroad and had been privy to the after game events from whatever we had played (usually my Ravenloft campaign). In a brief conversation, I informed him of the two major plot hooks that went unused (at that point) and a singular person that created 90% of the adventure of the town the players spent levels 1-7 in from a event that occurred 20 years in the past. He was somewhat surprised. I am sure we have all been there.
Also, is Kroger a grocery store? I live in Northeast Illinois.
