I could see Pinhead living in the Nightmare Realm or a portal of evil that can be summoned via the puzzle box.
Anyone whose ever played the Valkyrie Profile series I think Lezard or Wylfred could work as DLs. Lezard's persuit of power, knowledge and his lust for the valkyrie Lenneth no matter steps on or delves into is worthy of it. And if you go the darker route, Wylfred's quest for vengence on the same woman by sacrificing those who trust him for favor\power to the evil goddess Hel because the loss of his father (his soul taken by Lenneth) ruined his family and costed his sister her life.

Speaking of Clive Barker, some of his less over-the-top works wouldn't be a bad fit for the Land of Mists, either. Quaid from "Dread" had a very darklordly personality and agenda, and the story itself shows Ravenloft-like elements of dark justice and fatefulness. Likewise, Locke from "How Spoilers Bleed" would make a good cursed NPC, albeit probably not a full-fledged darklord.

As for Darklords I believe I mentioned Davy Jones in a previous thread, but alas I was beaten to it here...
Anyways I have been trying to decide who to add to the list and I think anyone incharge of a vault tec vault in Fallout 3 could be a candidate. I loved exploring the creepy experments gone wrong and lets face it. They all had to be bastards of one sort or another to have done that to so many people they were supposed to be protecting...
Also in a related fashion I nominate the Candyman for the first 2 movies as a Bogeyman... Sweets for the Sweet!

Back to Clive Barker, the theme running through Cabal (made into a film as Nightbreed) would make an interesting domain / DL.
Being that its full of monsters, but in fact its the intolerant humans, personified by the psychiatrist Decker, who are the real evil...

How about that he is secretly one of the 'monsters'. I remember a very good Batman story where Two-Face tries to set up his own nation of 'circus freaks' on a european island. He does this by blackmailing one of Gotham's rich elite who has kept secret his whole life that he has an extra pair of hands on his belly. Something similar could work for Decker.
Do us a favor Luv, Stick yer 'ead in a bucket a kick it!
So, gentlemen, that's how it is. Until Grissome.... resurfaces, I'm the acting president, and I say starting with this... anniversary festival, we run this city into the ground! :D

Well Decker is a murdering psycopath, who sees his mission is cleanse the world of the freaks and non-humans. In this he targets not only those who actually are monsters, but those he percieves as not human enough (he slaughters an obese family in the movie), he is a master manipulator and a cold calculating killer (and the mask he wears in the film with button eyes and zip for a mouth is downright creepy). He will do anything for his cause, so any curse has to hit right at the heart of that.
An obvious curse woud be to make all the residents of his domain caliban or broken ones (perhaps on a sliding scale between slight mutations and outright monstrous appearances) therefore giving him a hopeless struggle and seeing abnormality wherever he turns.
Actually i like Manofevils idea as well, perhaps for every life he takes he changes pshyically in a small way (I admit Im borrowing a bit from NeoTiamats Red Jack Fey here). These would certainly have to be minor and concealable abnormalities, but that it would breed frustration and digust with himself that he was becoming the thing he hated most.
Perhaps a more subtle curse woudl be that monsters are an accepted part of society in his domain, and that the poulace in general is more horrified by his killings. Therefore leaving our erstwhile DL isolated in his obsession and beliefs, and he has to conceal his hatred at all times and pretend to accept the abnormals in line with everyone else.

I like that idea ... Add to it that Decker is a psychotherapist in the original novel, then if 'his' domain were of a high cultural level and he was stuck in that same position ... He'd be forced not only to be around calibans and other non-humans all the time, he'd still be in a position of having to help them work out their emotional problems to some extent (he couldn't kill everyone indiscriminately, or people would catch on eventually). Imagine an endless stream of calibans treating him like a confidente. Sure, he'd use what they gave him to hurt an enormous amount of them, but it'd still grate on his pride that these 'freaks' keep treating him as if he's there only to help them.
