The Nightingale, Act II: A Village By Night
Re: The Nightingale, Act II: A Village By Night
Boiros opens his mouth to talk but no words come out. He looks panicked teh others making a sign with his hands that he was mute.
When he hears someone running at the roof he looks up trying to spot who is there. He also pointed the roof with his hand in order to make sure the others will look up as well.

Nicodemus scans the rooftops in that area looking for Boiros' target. His weapons are at the ready. "What did you see," he asks.
Re: The Nightingale, Act II: A Village By Night
Boiros points at his mouth one more time and makes the sign that he cans talk. Then gets his sword and writes at the dirt in front of Nikodemus. "I'm mute" and then "someone run away from the roof."

"It appears he has lost his voice as well," said Ammanas looking up to where he was pointing. 'Well with no voice, I guess we don't need a translator now...' thought Ammanas to himself.

Caitlin is looking increasingly panicked, and stares wildly up at the rooftops, seeking the source of the wird effects. She begins moving back towards the inn as if increasingly seeking shelter in its familiarity.

On the roof of the stable, there is nothing to be seen.
Re: The Nightingale, Act II: A Village By Night
Caitlin's words fade before get to Boiros' ears, the cleric remains still looking at the roof for few seconds as if he is frozen. He feels his head filling with evil laughs as someome was taunting him. He tries to repeat to himself that the voice at his mind doesn't exist but in no vain. Now the strange feeling became even more stronger, Boiros starts seeing a picture even if his eyes remain focussed on the roof. The cleric tries to close his eyes so the image gets away but this make things worse. The image gets more clear, he sees his and the others names written before his eyes and the letters...the letters were written in fire! The evil presence gets the best of him, the cleric is unable to control himself right now, the evil laughs coninue to be heard at his mind why the only thing he can see with his eyes are their names written with the flaming letters. Boiros feels his willpower fail him, he looks around with empty eyes. He is feeling alone, frustrated and desperate. It was clear to him that there is only one solution right now. He has to put an end to his miserable life so no more people will suffer, so he will no more suffer. There was only one option to Boiros right now, and was a pretty clear one. He has to hang himself. That is the only way. He could finally get to his beloved Ezra and hope to find inner peace. He still has no idea what is going on, but he knows that he is unable to stop it. It is too strong for him, he cannot fight it, the only option was to hang himself immediately. With unsteady pace gets in the stables and looks around hoping to find a rope. He has to end this once and for all.

"Well, perhaps we should follow....." Nicodemus trails off as he watches Boiros walk into the stables.
"Boiros?" He seems unsure for a moment. Then he walks to the door of the stables. "Boiros, what are you looking for?"
He carefully presses the edge of the stable door back with the tip of his axe. But he does not enter yet.

Ammanas watches as Boiros heads into the stables once again. Not sure if he had found whatever he was looking for, he walks up to the entrance with Nicodemus to watch the foreigner walk into the stables, light leading the way. “Something doesn’t smell right with this stable….” Says Ammanas who continues to watch the foreign cleric.

Outside town-
Varian climbs the tallest tree near the path out of town and hangs his lantern high among the leafless branches. He walks out onto a stout limb, which creaks a little under his weight but does not give way. Opening his pack, he pulls out a coil of rope. Varian fastens his rope around the high limb. Xavril can see that the young man is doing something with the other end of the rope, but the gnome’s angle of view isn’t good.
Varian does not respond to questions or demands. He moves fast, with jerky motions unlike his usual graceful manner.
Then Varian turns around. He opens his mouth as if to speak, but no sound comes out. Looking down at his gnomish comrade. He smiles sadly. A noose of hemp rope fits snug around his neck. He steps into thin air...

Delight is to him- a far, far upward, and inward delight- who against the proud gods and commodores of this earth, ever stands forth his own inexorable self.

Boiros keeps looking for the rope, he seems lost as if he is in a dream world. He cannot hear the voices of the others, not that would change anything even if he would. He has taken his decision, the only rational decision he can take. The desperation has taken the best of him, he has to find a rope and hang himself.

Nicodemus says Boiros' name again, confusion in his voice. He follows the man as he leaves the stables. Soon, they are standing at the bottom of the tree. When Boiros starts to climb, something seems to be decided in Nicodemus. He quickly grabs the man and pulls him down.
"Boiros, stop!"
"Boiros, stop!"

The gnome looks up and suddenly realizes what is about to transpire. "Varian, no!" he calls out.ewancummins wrote:Outside town-

Quickly he moves back and gathering momentum he runs as fast as he can and springing his powerful, but short legs, jumps into the air, hoping to grab Varian and prevent him from this follly.

Ammanas sees Boiros heading for the tree unsure exactly what he's doing with rope and then a tree.... 'wait a second.... the cloth!' He walks up to Boiros believing him now possessed by what he didn't know. "He's being possessed, stop him." said Ammanas as he drew back his scythe and tried to hit Boiros on the head with the blunt end of his scythe. "Don't let him wind up like the others."

Caitlin leaps forward and grabs Boiros bodily, hanging onto him and gasping in the cleric's native tongue.
"Stop! Stop! this isn't the way... This isn't what your goddess would want!"
