Gauderic says-
''Yes, I think so. Listen to the shrieking sound! He is in trouble, I think!"
The horrible noise continues...
AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

Benn smiles at the two companions' ingenuity, reaching for his breastplate as the screams echo down the cavern. His eyes open wide in shock, and he quickly dashes after Karim, leaving his armor behind.
"No more," he mutters, sloshing through the water with a grim set to his jaw, "No more today."

"Of course," Benn mutters, "It would be a damned shame if we ever knew what the hell was actually going on."

Benn struggles against the current, trying to run. Ahead, around the curve of the tunnel, he sees a faint glimmer of light. The shrieking continues. echoing up and down the cavernous river-channel.Adam wrote:Benn smiles at the two companions' ingenuity, reaching for his breastplate as the screams echo down the cavern. Always with his hands in plain sight but at the same time not missing the mushroom and the tentacles from his eyes Karim says:
"I will leave for now but will return with my friends, they will not harm you either but maybe they will be able to communicate with you better that I do."
Karim withdraws where he can swim and where hopefully the shieking is less annoying for his ears.

Karim noticed Benn's worried face and rushed to explain the situation.
"Benn, I'm alright, there is a mansized mushroom up there with tentacles. It didn't attacked me but I don't know if it can actually understand me when I was speaking to it. I think it does since it actually let me leave without attacking but I belive is better Thom or Eveline go check it and try to communicate with it. We don't know what is it capable of apart of shrieking and it's better avoid get in an encounter when we can avoid it."

Eustace takes the staff from the boat, refits his armour over his chest and beneath his clothes. He holds his holy silver with the left hand and starts walking towards Benn and Karim, towing the boat by the string. His staff illuminates brightly in a close radius.

Waiting Benn's reply Karim added:

Dorgio and Gauderic walk or swim behind the boat.

"Well, that was loud," Everline says. She bangs an ear with the heel of her free hand - the other one is miraculously occupied with the hilt of a nasty-looking morningstar. "Should we stuff some rags in our ears or what?" she suggests as she wades after the others, keeping to the rear of the group.

When the boat arrives, Benn gathers up his gear, slipping his breastplate back on and readying his crossbow.
"These fungi are outside my areas of study, a fact I intend to rectify should we manage to survive this venture." He looks to the others. "What do you suggest? Any hope of secrecy we may have had is now blown, I would assume."

"Block our ears and move quickly?" Everline suggests.

"Since the other fungi in the professor's room was intelligent there is good possibility that is one as well. I'm not sure but I have the feeling that it understood me, maybe not the words I was saying but my attitude."
Turning to Eveline says:
"Since the other one spoke with you maybe you can try talk to this one as well, maybe it understand that we mean no harm to it and let us pass."

Gauderic seems distracted. The young gentleman stares upstream.
''Is that...''
''Is that...''
