You might be thinking of Silversheen, a magic item that changes a weapon's material to alchemical silver. There is no magic item to change the material into either cold iron or adamantine.gonzoron wrote: There is an enchantment somewhere, I think that alters the weapon to whatever material would bypass the creature's DR, but I don't receall the name of it.

And this DM takes your advice. Nathan, Peregrine has 15/epic should he ever invoke the LG shield of Ezra.gonzoron wrote:Well, that's how I would rule if I were DMing.... and it's how I would advise a DM that I was assisting. But in that case the final say would naturally lie with him, not me.

There's a spell (and ring) of adamantine touch that does this. The Pickled Punk wrote:You might be thinking of Silversheen, a magic item that changes a weapon's material to alchemical silver. There is no magic item to change the material into either cold iron or adamantine.

Idea I always had that combines the 3.0 / 3.5, but never actually used:
A +1 sword vs DR 15/Magic doesn't negate the DR completely - the creature is supposed to be tough, right? Instead, each plus negates 5 pts of DR. I used this once during a fight in a 3.0 game because otherwise the fight would've been too damn tough.
Recap:
Each +1 is worth 5 pts of DR
+1 vs DR 15 = DR 10
+2 vs DR 10 = DR 5, and so on
