Bogeymen

Post by Olly »

Simple question: Can somebody tell me what bogeymen are included in Dark Tales and Disturbing Legends?
Home is behind,
The world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread,
Through shadow,
To the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.

Mist and shadow,
Cloud and shade,
Hope shall fail,
All shall fade.

Oh, OK then.

The Scissorman, Alligator Lenny, M. and Mme. Croquemitaine, Mr. Fox, the Bad Thing.

They have different stats to the original article too.

Oooh, different stats, you say? Interesting... Are there pictures of them?

Yes, but you'll have to buy the book.

Heh, no worries, there! I was going to buy it anyway as soon as I heard about the bogeymen! I love those guys! :D

The pictures are there, but they don't look exactly as I imagined the bogeymen to look.

Are you happy with them, though?

Where did these bogeymen first appear? A Kargatane netbook, I thought I read somewhere, but not sure... Any help? Scissorman sounds way too cool to let pass :)

Noises in the Night, on page 125 of The Book of Sacrifices. Which is, as you say, a Kargatane netbook.

Mostly. The art is the chapter is very good, and looks perfect. In the monster manual bit, they're just not hideous enough. Mme. C. for example, should be a huge mound of corpulence, like a revolting maiden aunt, but she just... isn't. Alligator Lenny doesn't have a snout. The Bad Thing should look like a cross between a chimp and a spider.

They're great pictures, and I'm very pleased with them, they just didn't quite capture the bogeymen how I imagined them.
