verrry Interesting. I like it a lot. The Ministry of Trade could make a great foil. I'm picturing something like the Psi Cops from Babylon 5. A constant thorn in the side, with some prominent sinister agents.

Of course, the Ministry would also have good reason to have some ships out on the seas. Perhaps they are looking for new places to establish trading enclaves like the one in Invidia. This could be their main mission, or just their cover story for harrassing the Providence at every turn.

I like Rotipher's motive for Darkon's involvement very much. Especially since it's totally unrelated to the Falkovnian aspect of the story. It's always nice to have a few unrelated plots before everything starts to intertwine.
