Hoo boy... Ravenloft collectible blind bag dice sets

Post by Gonzoron of the FoS »

Saw this in an LGS yesterday and I think it finally broke my completionist collector brain.

A set of dice, a coin, and a velvet dice pouch. Randomized. OK, so far, I'm interested....
  • 20 bucks each. Yikes... that's a bit more than I was hoping, but I guess reasonable for what you get, if the dice are high quality....
  • There are 8 different pouches. Somewhat reasonable to collect....
  • There are 31 coins, and some are rarer than others. Gulp. OK, that's going to be some ebay searching to collect them all, I suppose...
  • There are .... 55 different dice sets. of varying rarities. Aaaaaand I'm out. Unless these go on mega-clearance sale somewhere, I will have to accept not catching 'em all. I'm not dropping $1000+ on dice, no matter how nice.
The Holy symbol of Ravenkind "coin" is already selling for $100+ on ebay. I bought one bag, and got the painted Strahd coin, which is nice, and the Pidlwick dice pouch (pretty nice high quality on the pouch) but some lame common dice.

Indeed!

Bought three, got a Strahd coin and a very cool set of dice. The other two were pretty meh. I kept the purple bag with castle outline, giving the other two away, both had the bats

They look neat, but I'm tired of FOMO, trading card/gacha type gambling and the like in hobbies. No doubt, the second hand will be a fair bit too.

So I was at my local game store and spotted one of these things. My love of Ravenloft and my inner dice goblin got the better of me and I decided to just get one. Used some old skills from trying to get the "Monsters In My Pocket" I wanted from blind bags in the early 90's to try to get the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind.

My skills didn't fail me, but I also ended up with one of the legendary dice types. And a pink dice bag with a chalice.

Won't be getting anymore, but It it was a nice surprise.

The Remnants have one saying to represent loss, disappearance, exile, and death. It is Shiao Marests, "Taken by The Shadows".
