Mists over the Musarde: Poll for future of game/next game

Online roleplaying at the Café

After the current storyline is concluded...

1) ...that's a wrap. The campaign ends/goes on indefinite hold.

2) ....we continue to play after the Van Diecks story ends, using the surviving PCs and any new replacements. That's presuming no TPK, of course. New stories are created, new villains appear, and loose ends are addressed in play.

3) We place this game on hiatus/end it. Interested players are all invited to play in a new D20 game, low magic and gritty, set in my version of George Martin's Westeros.

I would like to go with option 2. However Option 3 sounds cool even though I know nothing about it.

So I guess I am will to go what ever direction you choose to take us Ewan...

Fans are already calling rape on the series, since apparently Sean Bean, Ned Stark, has only been hired for ONE episode.

Which means they will wrap up the majority of the first book in the first episode.
Which makes for a great moment of facepalm.

I liked the books, though, and I just wonder if we're in for some Wheel of Time tragedy with the rest of the series. As far as it seems, the next book won't appear this year, and if Martin keeps this rythm, we're in for a wonderful conclusion to the books - in 2025...

Also, you might want to skip the third and fourth book in the series until the rest of the novels is out as well. The conclusion of the story becomes painfully obvious after "A Storm of Swords", which kind of takes the suspense of the reading.

I have a strong suspicion about the conclusion, but it's not painfully obvious to me. Let's discuss that via PM, though, as Tarlyn is only a little way into the first book and some of the other guys haven't read the series at all. Spoilers!

I never got thru book 3. honestly, I stopped caring what was going on. It has that soap opera feel to me where there is alot of talk and little going on. Of course, i didn't get thru the book so Im sure it gets better. i tried to listen to the audio book, but the reader/actor sounds odd when he says "bitch"

Yeah, sure.
I can only encourage people to read the books -it's like a soap, just with dragons and PG porn.

Personally, I'm not a big reader of fantasy literature in general, but this one I could like.

The same case with me. The book when they jumped the shark, for me, at least.

In general, what annoys me about fantasy literature is the tendency of authors to do overlong series. I'm pretty sure the same story would have been much better with half of the subplots.

Listening to the Runelord series by David Farland these days, and it's the same kind of drama. But of course, five or six books are way more marketable than just two or three...
