Re: House of Strahd Soundtrack

The first time I ever heard anyone use ambient music for a Ravenloft game, it was the orchestral album Black Aria by Danzig. Still one of the most effective for the mood, I think. (Make sure you look up stuff on the first album, though, rather than Black Aria II. The second's not nearly as good.) A ...

What have they said about that idea, though? I realize nothing was ever officially done with it, but I'd love any insights into what the original concept was.

Re: Grand Conjunction--->ToUD campaign

Is there any compiled source on everything that was ever revealed--both in official products and in author/developer discussions--on the ToUD? I've always been insanely curious about it, but I've never been able to dig up much on what was planned.

'fraid I'm not really allowed to say anything that WotC hasn't already said. I'll bend that rule a little and say that this article has a stronger connection to a certain older-edition domain than any of the previous Domains of Dread have. But as to which one, and how strong a connection, I can't sa...

This may or may not help, but a little while ago, WotC published one of my short stories on their site, here: http://www.wizards.com/DnD/Article.aspx ... /20071031a

It was a deliberate attempt to write a Lovecraft-style tale in Ravenloft. You might find it useful.

Or not. :wink:

Wow, thanks a lot for the quick answer, Mr Marmell! No problem. And please, call me "Ari." I already feel old enough as it is. ;) I was just thinking, something else you could do would be to replace some of the monsters with creatures like lycanthropes. (Not too many, but a handful here a...

Hmmm... That's a bit tricky, since I wrote the adventure to mesh into the "medieval fantasy" feel of old editions of D&D. (It's also been a long time since I've thought about it, to be honest.) But let me think... First, you might consider having the curse on the ducal line come from s...

Well, I know that in the RPG industry it's not too uncommon for some artists to retain the rights to their work. They can then, after a certain amount of time, sell/license them to someone else as a "second use" piece. Not all companies allow it, and not all artists have the option, but it...

Ari, I always wanted to ask the following: Is there any relation between your intarweb moniker and this webcomic ? None whatsoever. I came up with the name "Mouseferatu" back in 1999, when I was trying to think of a cool handle for the White Wolf forums. I didn't learn of the comic's exis...
