I'd hardly say that the noble families "had been done" in an earlier edition. The very first Ravenloft boxed set contained a bunch of family trees--and I referred to those when writing my chapters--but virtually nothing had been fleshed out about them. I think prior to some of the Gazettee...

I think we can take the ending of "Satanic Rites of Dracula" as proof that what works in folklore doesn't always work on film. (I can see a dramatic scene being made of the vampire needing to rice or sesame seeds [in a funny kind of way]... but having *seen* a vampire wrestle with a bush a...

Rules for the Reniers, Weathermays, etc. are nice but I wish for something I haven't read about before, like an elfclan of Sithicus or a dwarvish family from Darkon. I share your wish. I hope the first LoB does well enough for their to be a second one... there are more families I want to write up, ...

Re: Who do you want in Legacy of Blood?

Well, Legacy of Blood will be out on Monday. Along with the major families (Reniers, Weathermays, Hiregaards), who do you want to see in it? Personally, I'd like to see a section on the Wachter family of Barovia make an appearance. Mainly because I intend to kill off most of the clan with the risin...

Re: Bringing Forward The Time Of Unparrelleled Darkness.

sod it, i've waited long enough. well, its been said there'll be no more modules...soooooo, what was the original plan for TOUD? come on, you can tell me, i won't tell anyone. As Lucifer said, originally there was no intention to ever deal with the Time of Unparalled Darkness in print. When ...

Re: Anybody here play anything besides AD&D/d20?

Anyone? I've run a D6 Star Wars game more or less uninterrupted since 1995. (There's only one player left from the original group, but the campaign continues!) I've played many, many RPGs over the years (prime among them being Star Frontiers, Top Secret S/I, and Cyberpunk 2020), but right now, it's...

"Horror Express" is one of my all-time favorite horror films. I hope you enjoy it! "Satanic Rites of Dracula" is noteworthy because it has the most embarrassing death scene that I think Dracula has ever been subjected to. On the other hand, the basement scene is one of the creepi...

I don't play? That's going to surprise the hell out of my Monday night game group. Do you know something I don't? Or maybe you're just talking without having anything to base the blather on

Surpried to see Jason X get 5 stars though, I enjoyed it, but I thought it was pretty run-of-the-mill and rated it about 3 out of 5 when I reviewed it when it came out. It was just another "turn your brain off, laugh at the jokes and deaths" movie to me . Very enjoyable for it but no...

I think it's intresting that so many people liked "The Grudge." I thought it was a huge waste of time, despite the admittedly few good scares that were in it. (I posted a review of it, along with five other movies [and counting... it's my "Quickie Review" thread. Feel free to con...

More like the Kargatane didn't intend to formally write up the ToUD, but left it as an interesting seed for the readers. As the guy wrote that Time of Unparalled Darkness reference in "Bleak House," I can confirm that this was indeed the original intention. (Although I while I never was p...

I have just been added to the creative line-up working on this book.

I'll be putting the first word on paper (so to speak) Saturday. :)
