Re: Adventures that Explore Mordent
While there's no full adventure, take a look at the backstory for James Martigan (from the "Lights in the Fog" article in the Book of Secrets). Just need a map of the Phantom Lover's tower and put the PCs in the place of van Richten.

Re: The Abbot of St Markovia (Spoilers for CoS)
Fallen celestials should be fiends or maybe mortals, if they are a thing at all, IMO. They should actually transform. Check out the radiant idol from the Eberron setting (specifically, Sharn: City of Towers . They're fallen angels who have lost their wings, been banished from the heavens (in the ca...

Re: Ireena and Tara Kolyana relationship in Curse of Strahd
One of the issues with people thinking Tatyana was a blonde is that Virginia Weathermay was a blonde, and the cover to I10: The House on Gryphon Hill (i.e. the above picture) showed Strahd carrying Virginia's unconscious form. A lot of people seem to have mistaken her for Tatyana.

Re: Ireena and Tara Kolyana relationship in Curse of Strahd
It's also worth noting that there's a 3rd reincarnation of Tatyana running around in the contemporary era: Kristina von Zarovich, who reincarnated on prime material Barovia and was featured in Roots of Evil (my own personal preference is to have Kristina be the current generation's "official&qu...

Re: Genre savvy NPCs
Dominic D'Honaire, there's a suggestion that the young Dominic influenced his family into moving into the mists and thereby created Dementlieu, which suggests that he had some awareness of the results I always interpreted this as he was influencing them to leave town to get himself away from undo a...

Incidentally, Duke Gundar was killed 4 years prior to the GC, and it was Dr. Dominiani who took his place until the GC, then got "demoted" to an Island of Terror domain because of Dominiani's weak rule of Gundarak. And evemtually, his evil in Dominia caused him to get kicked back up stair...

Re: Genre savvy NPCs
Dominiani: was involved in a plot to usurp a domain, which succeeded, lost his domain in the core, gained an island domain, island domain joined the core. Along with that, Akriel Lukas is also genre savvy, understanding domain borders and her father's role in Kartakass and the details of his undyin...

Re: Thoughts on...Dementlieu
One of the best ret-cons for Dementlieu (in my opinion) came from Ryan Naylor: Dominic's mother did not die in childbirth, but when he gained his darklordship, she became the 1st victim of his curse (and is now secretly locked away in an asylum somewhere for her "delusional" insistence tha...

I think there's a certain amount of "chicken and the egg" debate going on between us at the moment or at least a debate about cause and effect. Did he stop doing the monpolist bit because he lost control of a bunch of wolves once he was no longer the darklord of Arkendale, and had more fr...

Re: Harkon's REAL Crime (WARNING! Mature Content)
Has Harkon ever been named in female form? Didn't he appear in female form in Heart of Midnight? Haven't read HoM , but he does appear in female form in Feast of Goblyns when he takes on Akriel's favorite form. I've always taken the write up for greater wolfweres in FoG at face value, and assumed t...

Re: Horror's Harvest sequel idea
I haven't managed to lay my hands on a copy of CoS yet, but I reckon that the village of Delmunster would be easily reskinned as a Barovian location, rather than a Falkovnian one. Perhaps in the Svalich Woods to the south of the Luna River(?). Thull Arksum might be reimagined as a Thaani, nervously...

Re: Vistani as Player Characters
Well, let's recap their game mechanic-based (as opposed to the flavor text) and see what we can do (I'm going off of the 3.5 Ravenloft PHB). They never formally (as far as I'm aware) create an official ECL adjustment for the Vistani, but I'll make some estimates below. * Medium-sized humanoid w/ the...

Re: Timeline problems, Forfarmax and Hazlan
My solution: put it in Forlorn, where it was always supposed to be anyway. The only reason it's in Hazlan is because "The Ghosts of Hospitality" came out after Castles Forlorn was released, and it irritated a lot of people that the "gazetteer" of Forlorn didn't mention the other ...

Re: Summoner on ravenloft! some questions! (D&D 3.5)
The idea is interesting, but i have a question. How does it works with the dread elemental feature? Every time he summon an elemental (not conjure) this one will be a DRead elemental, and it will be evil, but submissed to the druid's will, right? The summon monster spell declares that the spell has...

Re:
Well gee, they do have to use the actual name of the setting somehow to refer to it in the game products don´t they. And it is the name of the Castle which spawned the demiplane and from which perhaps a few weekend-in-hell adventurers coudl escape in the early days and so it became a moniker for th...
