Grats, Joel! I work at a Hastings Bookstore, and spotted the title on the new release shelf yesterday. I started laughing when I saw the review quote, and I think people thought I was strange...

I draw on otherwise ordinary things, and place them in situations where they are NOT ordinary. I like to write out things I plan to be really scary, so I make sure I cover all the senses. In my opinion, the scariest things are what you DON'T see in gory detail, what you only hear or smell or feel. E...

I'm all for it. I actually sat down a couple of weeks ago and got a start on a Gothic Earth fic for my own amusement; it would be lovely to have a place to share it. :) And I always love seeing what others might contribute--overall, I think the odds are good that we'll have more than our share of de...

I think that depends on the DM. The Dementlieu of my campaign is mid-to-late 18th century tech.

I was wondering if someone would mention the balloon in Ultima IV ...(Oh dear, that rather dates me, doesn't it? :P ) I don't see why you couldn't have a balloon in the Core--though I imagine those pesky Mists could cause headaches in navigation. Hmmm...and how would the ability to fly affect certai...

Not sure I've heard that phrase. What would you define as "shared world"?

 Goodness. Well, I guess it can't be said the player couldn't see what was coming. Kudos to a well-played Chaotic Neutral! 8)

I DM a Ravenloft campaigns most Saturday nights (that is, when I can actually write the darn adventure), and my group of players are absolutely wonderful. Intelligent, experienced, and always willing to have the crap scared out of 'em. They have a fantastic sense of humor, too, which makes for some ...

Funny, I was just thinking about making noises about a fanfiction section...Though I'm not sure "fan fiction" is the appropriate phrase for it, but I guess there isn't another that would work better. I would certainly be posting things. I discovered Ravenloft, and the plot bunnies began to...

I think planestouched races definitely have a place in the Ravenloft settings, provided they are used in moderation. :) I think they can be dropped into RL same as any outlanders. :) I've got a fiction I'm working on that involves a Sigil-native tiefling that gets dropped into Gothic Earth. (Because...

I haven't had time to more than glance over what you have here, but I like it. There always seemed to me to be something lacking in the mechanics of the MotRD classes...:D Nice job! I'll almost certainly refer back to this if I ever get a MotRD campaign off the ground!

  Okay, speaking as an artist, and if I saw that picture of "Keebler" Strahd and didn't KNOW it was supposed to be Strahd...then I'd say "Hmm. Cool outfit, hot elf. Looks like a neat NPC." However, since it's supposed to be Strahd...ummm...no way in hells. Good grie...

Hmmm. I'm not sure you should have her automatically fail a powers check, at least not at first. Perhaps, though, give her a higher chance of failing. After all, grief and the desire for vengeance do not automatically make a person evil, and it's not as though she is focusing her rage on an innocent...

The Slasher strikes me as a definitely interesting addition to any campaign. (I plan to run The Evil Eye at some point IMC), especially since she's a "villain" you can genuinely empathize with. It would be an interesting challenge, I think, for PCs to deal with her in a manner that does NO...
