Re: Apologies for prolonged absence

Very true. Especially as summer is my works busy season. Going to be a long month I think.

Apologies for prolonged absence

I'm sorry to have kind of dropped off the face of the Earth for a bit. My elder cat has been having some severe health problems, and it's been a never ending whirlwind of vet appointments, fundraising and extra shifts to try to pay for his treatment, and sadly, time to grieve after we had to make th...

Re: As a big Buffy the vampire slayer fan…

I had no idea this was even a thing. Yeah, I definitely agree it can be not great if one person is the chosen one. Personally, I’d rather be willow than Buffy, but I can see how some people would want to fight over who gets to be the slayer. I was more thinking as a lore facet than as a player chara...

Need? No. But it certainly seems like something that would be in his wheelhouse to me.

Re: Resident Evil in Ravenloft?

Late here but the NES game Sweet Home would also be a good source of inspiration. Resident Evil is considered the Spiritual Sucessor to the game. It should be easy enough to find a Let's Play on Youtube. I love sweet home! Never got to play sadly but my horror game obsession brought me to a let’s p...

I can’t even express how sad I was when I realized this was posted on April first, you got me good. I desperately wish these were real.

As a big Buffy the vampire slayer fan…

I’ve always liked the idea of having a figure like the slayer in my Ravenloft setting. Obviously the trimmings of the character Buffy wouldn’t mesh well, but I think the idea of a “slayer” one in the world at a time has some pretty cool potential. Any other fans of the show? Or even just ideas of go...

Re: New to Ravenloft? Or new to our forum? introduce yourself!

How are you going to run the Hexad modules? I mean since the level difference from one to another go back and forth. More specifically, the order will likely be : 1:Night of the Walking Dead (1-3) 2: Feast of Goblyns (4-6) 3: Touch of Death (7-9) 4: Ship of Horror (10-12) 5: From the Shadows (13-15...

Lets remember our Greek anadrome; A word which forms a different word when spelled backwards. palindrome; A word, verse, or sentence, that is the same when read backward or forward. I also enjoy emordnilap, words that while they are not palindromes, form a different word when spelled backwards, suc...

It’s definitely cool as a what if, maybe even something for a distorted mirror world version of the realm?

Re: Madame Eva

One of the changes to I6 they made with Curse of Strahd was to make Eva Strahd’s illegitimate and secret sister, which is one of the changes I genuinely enjoyed. It opens up a lot of possibilities story wise. I’m glad you enjoyed it. I don’t agree, but I am ok with people liking things for their ga...

Re: Language in the Dread Realms

I might spend some time putting together a table or something that shows what languages are common for different domains. I'm trying to get something easy for my players to have access to, so they can see what languages are useful where at a glance. Funny, doing the same myself for my setting overh...

Here’s a link to one of them, though if you’re interested in the others mistipedia sadly is lacking on info for them. I’d suggest checking out a pdf of DTaDL, chapter 4: noises in the night.

Re: 0-Level or no Level Prequel kids adventure

Dark tales and disturbing legends for 3.0 has info on boogeymen that would make wonderful antagonists for something like this. IIRC they can only be seen by children as well, which makes for some fun reactions from adults in their lives to their fear of the literal boogeymen.

but she has always appeared as a wizened crone in all centuries she has existed in the Land of Mists. The look how she feels is Vistani lore. As I see it she always "feels" too wise to be younger than she looks. IIRC I've read someone who raised the possibility that the Gentleman Caller c...
