I like a certain amount of historical accuracy in my adventures.... and yet sometimes just sometimes You really need to let Dracula break out his Velociraptor army and go to town on DC!!! After all, what would Blackstone's Freak Circus do without the appropriate foes-balloon animals and Bar Mitzvahs...

I did a few Masque of the Red Death one-shots with WFRPG early this year(a few mods to starting Careers are all you need) so i'm completely sure it can do straight Ravenloft with no changes at all. You'll have to stat out a few monsters and Darklords though. A few things you should note: Combat-fast...

Well, if you were playing Ravenloft, i'd say let the Lich create them as a base power (it probably failed a LOT of Powers checks on the way to Lichdom!). The creatures could be limited in number, subject to Turning as the Lich itself(a part of Itself is invested rather than the usual metho...

I've always liked the old TSR Amazing Engine system myself...very easily houseruled, not to mention very port-friendly to other systems that I enjoy borrowing from.

Don't forget the Curtis/Palance adaptation of Dr. Jekyll and Mister Hyde...while Palance's Dracula had a few flat spots, his Jekyll was dead brilliant!
The two can be found on two-sided DVD at MPI, BTW(www.mpihomevideo.com). Some Dark Shadows material too!

Well, i'm still fond of the AD&D 2nd ed. Masque boxed set myself...but i've done a mini-campaign with Warhammer FRPG V2 rules for a really gritty game or two, just tweak a few of the Advanced Careers and you're golden... A nice fit is the Shadow Chasers Minigame in Dungeon 91/Polyhedron-it's a p...

Funny thing...I happen to think most of these riffs would work as well(if not better) in Masque as in Ravenloft. Why? Because Gotham City is a major character in its own right, the environment which shapes and nurtures the players in its games. While the ideas mined from comics can be transplanted a...

If you don't mind raiding the old Greyhawk Adventures book ( AD&D 2nd ed), you can find a creature called a "Drowned One"-a 5HD nautical Super-Zombie created through divine intervention. These wretches shamble on land but swim like lightning, posses a rotting Stench attack (like troglo...

Can you find a copy of Dungeon #91/Polyhedron? In the included Shadow Slayers mini-game(a prototype for the later D20 Modern) the authors introduced the Shadow Blood templates. Each Shadow package (Lycanthropic,Vampiric and Fiendish) recieved a package of advantages and disadvantages to reflect its ...

Eldritch-I feel your pain. Well,I don't really...but the voices in my head do,and they really WON'T SHUT UP unless I do something about it... I feel the same way about Masque of the Red Death. The original Boxed Set had a mildly tweaked rules set from AD&D 2nd,while the WW hardcover used a 3.5 va...

Oh,those silly things...I took them down quite awhile ago, they were keeping vict-er,newcomers away. I replaced them with ads I cribbed from the Godiva chocolates website.Personally,I expected a much bigger response than this-it's a trick that's kept my pet alligators fed for MONTHS... Oh,and welcome...
