Re: Markov's legacy
First of all, I'd like to thank you for your ideas. I think I will have human cultists wearing pigs' carcasses cut out like trenchcoats and one huge hog that is slowly transforming into human like hybrid. As for The Lesser Evil's question. I assume daughter visits her parents from time to time and i...

Markov's legacy
As a part of our RPG tradition, I am going to run Halloween Ravenloft One-Night Special . This time I go back to Barovia again (after venturing to Richemulot and Mordent in recent years). I was going to run Fair Barovia but it is too long to finish it in one session, so I have picked one sub-plot to...

Re: MARKET PLACE: Ravenloft's interesting auctions and links
Dear and esteemed memebrs of Frternity. After long deliberation I am going to sell my 3E RL collection. All books are original, as a bonus I offer printed and bounded "Van Richten's Guide to the Mists". Here is a list: Core Denizens of Darkness RL Player's Handbook RLDungeon's Master Guide...

Increasing power of magic in Gothic Earth
As you all know well, magic is a very dangerous buisness in tje Gothic Earth. It is so impaired, that most of my players do not play magic-using characters. I may have an idea of solution in a way of altering one aspect of ot. While extended casting rime, power checks etc. are going to be as writter...

Re: Masque of the Red Death D20
Main reason, why I don't like 3rd edition i's MotRD is, I don't like 3E at all. Despite rules' awkwardness, I still prefer 2E (and really like D&D 4E, but that is different story). To me 3 Edition was too much rules heavy. Moreover, we got only one book where in times of 2E we were presented wit...

Re: Power checks for spells in MotRD
I've made few tweaks in my MotRD campaign, that are quite similar with your proposals: - increase hit die = I've changed it to following formula: basic hit points are equal to Con + modifier (characteristic in 3E or HP in 2E). - magic always deals max effect (damage, range, healing eddects etc), no ...

Re: 4E Ravenloft--Back into the Crypt for Now
If the game was supposed to be like Gamm World, it would have it's own rules section (d20 4th edition, not the different ones) as well as character creation, advancement, monsters and world's description. What worried me was an option to play creatures of darkness. I would not hope to see new materi...

Re: Back in the saddle; Ravenloft 2E
Actually I have stared my FR campaign to check, if third edition is as good as it appeared to be. After two and half of year, using 3.0, 3,5 and Pathfinder rules sets I find it way too complicated and restricting me as a DM to my taste. I tried 4th edition and liked it but some of my friends do not ...

First of all, I'd like to congratulate being father of young lady. You gave her very unusal name. Certainly, she will be very unique person! Coming back to topic. I love your ideas, especially second and third book. There is something fascinating in power of ancient, dusty tomes. Henry's Marten Book...

Village of Barovia - what do we know?
Hello! Last time my thoughts were rather occupied with Barovia. I play with an idea of adventure in the most classic Ravenloft domain and began imaging it in my mind's eye. But I have some problems, since only map of Village of Barovia and it's immediate surrounding is in infamous Expedition to Cast...

Re: Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone! Anyone think of any clever names for the last decade, or the next? The last century had the Roaring Twenties, the Dirty Thirties, and the Psychodelic Sixties. We can't let this century get boring with all sorts of lame wannabe decades. May I suggest that this decade be the ...

Re: What do you expect from 4E?
Greetings to everybody! I'd like to say good evening, after a way to much absence from gentleman's club like Le Cafe du Nuit. I'd like to say few words about upcoming edition of our beloved world. First of all I look toward it. Certainly, I'll buy it. I have high hopes and think, the will be lived u...
