Re: THis just... I just... good lord...
I would agree with him. Torturing an evil guy is as evil as torturing a good guy, whatever moral curtains you put on it. It also draws the attention of the dark powers that revel in people slowly getting corrupt and abandoning the hard path of virtue "for the greater good". hang on, are y...

THis just... I just... good lord...
So this other board I frequent has this fad right now of doing indepth reviews of Old game books. Amdd someone just did this review of the Black Box http://tgdmb.com/viewtopic.php?t=54167&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 we've gotten into a bit of a thing, regarding the subject of Powers...

Ok, here's what worries me It's being written by one of the writers of the Buffy RPG I bought the Buffy RPG, and I can say that collectivly the writers were lazy and incompetant. maybe they'll do better making a system from scratch, because the biggest problem with buffy was that they took a generic...

Of course there's also the possiblity that Azzy is AFRAID to attack falkovnia. Why would he scared, you ask? Well for starters he had a comment in the second doomsday gazzetter regarding his war with Barovia some men recognize futility when they see it. so given what he knows about the demiplane, Az...

And was Mordent ever connected to Darkon? Great fun when one is trying to track the movements of historical figures . . . . yes, as was Lamordia, according to I Strahd: TWAA , not sure if that's cannon though, I'm gonna check to see if that matches the timelines in the old boxsets EDIT: yes, accord...

Is there a specific date and reason the treaty came about? Was it the deadmans campagin? And why did Darkon and Lamordia stay out of it? I think because Darkon was very far away from the four nations, and did not have extensive contact with them. . I think a better question is why would azalin join...

Umm....
it occurs to me that all the previous Van Richten Guides have dealt with multiple monsters (All werebeasts, numorus strains of vampire, all fiends, all incorporeal undead, Liches, ghosts, and to a lesser extent mummies were each essentially unique by nature, etc) so, is this going to include other &...

went back and reread the initial post, I missed that line the first time and like I said, I wasn't sure about the draining thing, I when I played the game I never pissed the humans off, and by the way, you don't have to exaust the guards to make them non-hostile, you can just turn and run the first ...

can we get a quick show of hands to see who recognizes where this thing came from, because non of the replies so-far indicate that you do. except jesters comment about the Grim Reaper now for my take, I think this thing fits into ravenloft pretty well. although I would want the rules close to the so...

(Dominic D'Honaire comes from Mordent and goes north into the Mists; so Dementlieu is definitely part of the Mordentish cluster. Same way, the Timothy family is from Mordent, so Arkandale is part of the Mordentish cluster. But more difficult is Vlad Drakov leaving from Darkon, so Falkovnia is part ...

Just as a sidenote
as a nitpick I think I should add A living wall would probably be the WORST possible defense this lich could add, if you have the rules, reread them. First off because a livingwall won't attack anyone that doesn't attack it first, making it more a less of a defense and more of a meta-game punishment...

something you should consider...
every write-up of azalin (domains of dread, Gazetter 2, the RL 3e campaign-setting thingy) says that while he can't learn or grasp new principles he can refine the knowledge he already has. since the most obvious interpretation of this (improving his caster-level) has been explicitly ruled out; I wo...

Is there any usefulness in *This* WOTC product
Has anyone taken the Wotc Stroghold Builders Guide and done the math on any famous ravenloft structures? I guess that the maintenance costs might give some idea ast to the taxes collected in, oh say, Darkon On the other hand, as was said on the Malhavoc forum I actually worked out the value of the K...
