Re: Why is Victor Mordenhiem a woman now?
Some people have analyzed Holmes and Watson, the inspiration for Ray and Sedgewick, as having had a recurring romance. Yes, Watson gets married, but who does he run to and move back in with when his wife dies? That's right, Holmes. Ray and Sedgewick being a homosexual couple really isn't that stran...

Re: Why is Victor Mordenhiem a woman now?
And then later in the development they decided they needed a character in a wheelchair, but wanted it to be a hero. And since there was only a small number of heroic characters, it was either Ray, Sedgewick, or one of the Weathermay-Foxglove sisters. And they picked the wrong character... Now that'...

Re: Let's show 'em how it's done!
On the other hand I have already dropped an idea somewhere where Nostalia Romaine could be a lesbian and even though she craves for human contact with a woman she is dreadful to embrace/kiss another woman cause the image of Camille Dilisnya comes to her mind as she is haunted with nightmares of Cam...

Re: Let's show 'em how it's done!
Perhaps in the next Quoth the Raven, we should show the Ravenloft publishers how it's done and create Darklords and NPCs of women, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, nonhuman, etc. or just develop a separate netbook of superior quality. Dunno if we'd manage to "show them how it's done", being as we're not PR...

Re: Why is Victor Mordenhiem a woman now?
Not to mention, it just occurred to me - it's not insulting AT ALL (/sarcasm) making Alanik Ray gay, handicapped, AND a racial minority, because everyone knows inclusiveness stacks......
Again, just my not-so-humble opinion........

Re: Why is Victor Mordenhiem a woman now?
Though again, WotC accomplishing little more than telling us that heinous acts can be committed by minorities and women too still makes me laugh. They totally seem to have forgotten the darklords are the bad guys . — onmyoji That's it, that's what I've been trying to figure out how to say......even...

Re: Why is Victor Mordenhiem a woman now?
In 2E, Hazlik's 'offenses' were vague. We never learn why feminine tattoos were forced upon Hazlik. In the 3E version, Hazlik is falsely accused of sexual assault of another man with whom he was having a consensual tryst, and he is thus forced to bear feminine tattoos as punishment. Turning Hazlik ...

Re: Why is Victor Mordenhiem a woman now?
To be clear, there probably wasn't some corporate mandate to add more women. The CEO or head of D&D didn't set a hard number of visible people of colour. It was the people writing the book who decided to add more women. Or the head designer on the product who was co-writing might have encourage...

Re: Why is Victor Mordenhiem a woman now?
I agree with the above - after reading on DnDBeyond, 5e Ravenloft actually feels gutted to me, mostly due to all these changes, and with no explanation, development, just as the man said, "because reasons". One example: Gay couples? Sure, no problems there, why not, it's a real thing. But ...

Re: VRG:R pdf
It seems that starting with Candlekeep, WotC has moved away from downloadable-PDF content. Which makes sense given the extreme ease involved in sharing PDFs. — onmyoji Didn't WOTC try this once before and it blew up in their faces? Sure, let's try again. I mean, I suppose the online content is okay...

VRG:R pdf
Hello all, Apologies if this has been asked - if so, could a mod please point me to the relevant thread and delete this one. Do they have a pdf version of VTG:R? I can't seem to find it on Dmsguild or Drivethrurpg, and the one listed on Amazon is hardback......I'd prefer a pdf if I can get one.........

Re: Long-term Recurring Villains
Thank you for sharing the details of this campaign. I'm amazed that you managed to play through such an intricate series of events in "only" two years. We were playing a LOT, sometimes 2-3 times a week - it was about the same time as my last year of university and my first year of grad sc...

Re: Long-term Recurring Villains
Important Items The Tome of Terror Referred to as Tales of the Champion in-campaign, this was used as a way to include several adventures that I wanted to play, but the PCs were the wrong level or in the wrong place. Each adventure provided some clue regarding Elsepeth, Isolde, or both. Tales used ...
