Re: The Black Vault Haul II: Necromantic Boogaloo

Mirrors of Respiro The mirror craftsman Respiro is well regarded amoung the vampire elite of Lazendrak, for his custom-made mirrors which, thanks to intricate enchantments, can actually reflect a vampire, something though impossible. Little do they suspect this supposed egalitarian and vampire-loya...

Re: First debate of 2025 - AI image or not ?

So long as its not used for making money, or deliberately snubbing artists who take requests, I figure its fine. I'll never really respect it, but when one doesn't have art skills, nor the money or wilingness to pay a real artist its a fun toy that fills a minor need.

Re: The Black Vault Haul II: Necromantic Boogaloo

Oscar's Black Bones Nosos Oscar Cullivan was but of the many teeming poor of Nosos, destorying his body and mind in the industrial hell of Nosos to support himself and his family. A rough man, he was nonetheless more loving and gentle to his family than most men of the city. Taking extra shift afte...

Can we make it flexible by having dust be a theme of the item (cause its hard to make dust an item)?

Wait, you make Michael Myers and the druid thing, but not Halloween 3's Silver Shamrock Company? Or the famous theory that they and hte Thorn cult are tied to each other?

Re: Quoth the Raven #31 (Halloween 2024) Reaction Thread

I love Ian's take on Bluetspur, making it a mixture of underdark, a weird mixture of Lovecraft and Clark-Ashton-Smith, almost like T. S. Elliot's The Wasteland. The caverns of this land are perhaps more human and normal than the nightmarish surface, but makes itself more than just another underdark ...

Re: Mordenheim Bloodline issue (warning: mature discussion)

Only semi-related, I prefer shared darklord-ship because I see Adam and Mordenheim as mirrors of each other. While externally Adam portrays himself as the violent brute, his actions suggest a cold and rational sadism. While it seems like he flies off the handle, his acts of cruelty against Mordenhei...

Re: QtR 31 is open for submissions!

The theme being revolution (or revolt) implies mainly things of Gothic Earth or the more advanced domains such as Paridon or Dementliue. Of the ones with direct themes of conquest and revolt, you have Falkovnia, Invidia, and Barovia. For more social revolt you have the unrest of Dementliue and possi...

Re: Lord Soth's Skeletal Warriors: Mindless or Intelligent?

One other question is, are these actually the original Skeleton Warriors? Cause as I recall, Soth entered the land of mists alone without his entourage. Its possible that these are just mist recreations, as flawed as everything else in their recreation of Soth's home. That could also mean that the o...

Re: Lamordia: Inspirations, Legends, and Plothooks

I return! (Told you I would fall off on doing this). As I recall, Lamordia's cosmology from Gazetteer 2 believes the universe is composed of a the defined and absolute lawful parts of creation, characterized as a great clockwork machine, and the rest being a sort of mercurial substance which forms t...

Re: Children of the Night: The Wild Things

I appreciate animal and nature horror (especially cheesy stuff like Guy N. Smith's Crabs series). But I don't think its enough to warrent a Children of the Night or Van Richten Guide. However, one could make articles using other characters as guides for this. Evil or dangerous plants could be presen...

Re: Kartakass: Inspirations, Legends, and Plothooks

A dangerous bit of folk protection practiced by the Kartakanns is the Troll Jar. While all know that trolls cannot easily heal from fire or acid, its a little known fact that pieces of their flesh won't regenerate if soaked in alchohol. Troll Jars are just that, pieces of Trolls and Dread Trolls cho...

Re: Is Van Richten's Guide to Ravenloft worth getting if you own all the 2E/3E books?

I think it had a good I'Cath and Bluetspur reinterpretation, and I didn't mind Kalakeri (though prefer the original Sri Raja). But that's it.

Re: Movies that have that Ravenloft feel

While too nonsenicle to really have a Ravenloft fell, the Lucio Fulci 'Gates of Hell' trilogy (City of the Living Dead, The Beyond, House by the Cemetary). His style was very much dream-like, with story being secondary to terrifying and enthralling the audiance. In a way, this makes it great for som...

Re: Additional monsters for Hazlan

I like the idea about Dal Quori, it does make sense considering their ties to Nightmarelands and Bleutspur. I like Eberron getting a little love. For Rashemen and Thay, I don't know much but I know their is the ice/snow elemental the Orglash. Considering its a land based on the idea of acknowledging...
