Re: Radical changes in Ravenloft in your campaign

First time I hear of a precursor to Ravenloft. Perhaps a layer of hell? Or Hades that was also a trap-plane that you couldn't escape easily? Neither. It is an Etheral Demiplane. "The Demi-Plane of Imprisonment is only hinted at in the legends of those who are themselves legends. Legend says th...

Re: Radical changes in Ravenloft in your campaign

Drakov is a Napoleon expy, he does not need first night to have lot of illegittimate children. Drakov is IMO a Napoleon wannabe. But I agree with the view that while he enjoys a warm bed, he enjoys torturing people and crushing descent more. Honestly, if the DP made everyone in Falkovnia adore him ...

Re: Radical changes in Ravenloft in your campaign

gender bending existing villains, or queer washing established characters, rather than creating new ones where that can be an actual part of their identity is obnoxious They even got all the names wrong linguistically when they feminized them. Its ridiculous. If you check out the name changes its j...

That's absolutely absurd, Mephisto! Ravenloft doesn't HAVE any fridges!

Re: Doppelganger or Bodytacker Plant?

I always thought "Horror Harvest" would be a good adventure, but I've never had the chance to run it. Glad to hear you liked it and your PC's enjoyed it. Did any of them suffer ill effects from the meteorite?

Re: A map of the dread domains

Yes, that's precisely what I meant, Mephisto. I want a map I can show my players which won't give anything away.

Re: A map of the dread domains

I think the map of Ravenloft in the "Dread Domains" is fine, but it labels places like the "D'Honaire estate" and "Schloss Mordenheim" which the players should not know are important. Are there any maps of Ravenloft here which leave out those inconvenient locations?

Re: Violet Fungi damage?

Thanks so much for all of the research you did on this! The question of what exactly "rots flesh" means in terms of damage for the Violent Fungi has been haunting me for years!

Violet Fungi damage?

In the 2nd edition rules, it says nothing more than the Violet Fungi's strike "rots flesh". Is it supposed to rot all flesh and thus one hit is lethal? It never says!

Rule question for Dungeons and Dragons!

I pretty much stopped collecting D&D when it went to third edition, so I don't know what might have happened beyond that. As of 2nd Edition, though, they never bothered to give any rules for what happens when someone loses a limb, say to a sword of sharpness. Do they have to make a Systems check...

Re: The Trouble with Sri Raji

Excellent information on deities allowed in the domain! I can't see why anyone of Indian descent or Hindu faith should be offended by anyone or anything that happens in a fictional domain. If so, I'd suggest they're being massively oversensitive.

Re: The Trouble with Sri Raji

I find Sri Raji to be a very interesting land, with much potential. I'm glad to hear you're thinking it deserves an in-depth look. 1. Forget cultural sensitivity. Sri Raji isn't a real place, and none of its inhabitants exist to be offended. 2. The Darklord and his Dark Sisters of Kali control the d...
