Re: Ravenloft's near future and Darklord ages
If we look at existing examples of domains splitting or merging, maybe we can get some ideas Maybe we should also look at where transition between DL has happened smoothly(ish): Borca: Camille to Ivana, child kills parent becomes DL, little to no change in type of DL (seductive poisoner), little to...

Re: Ravenloft's near future and Darklord ages
It's always seemed to me, particularly with domains ruled by non-political DL, and "wilderness" domains like Arkandale or Forlorn, that there would be "countries" that were spread over several domains, and even in the case of politically active DL, shared history/ethnic backgroun...

Re: The relations between Mordent, Dementlieu and Richemulot
Been thinking about this, and I've realised that we've overlooked a Mordentish nation (or two, depending on the date). The Timothy Werewolf clan of Arkandale and Verbrek are of Mordentish origin, and I think they qualify for the "big and empty" Canada slot. I think the reason we think of M...

Re: Sylvan Fey
Thanks, that means I'm not too far off the mark with my thoughts.
If a Shadow Fey born outside the Shadow Rift is not a Shadow Fey, is a Sylvan Fey born in the Shadow Rift a Shadow Fey?

Re: Quoth the Raven #22 - Submissions Open
I was thinking of working up a version of my thoughts on adapting Arthur Machen's "The Great God Pan" for Ravenloft. Would that be OK as it's based on someone else's story?

Sylvan Fey
In VRGttSF it mentions the Sylvan Fey and says that any fey not born in the Shadow Rift are Sylvan Fey, but what are Sylvan Fey? I've assumed they are dryads, fairies and the like, sylvan creatures that you could find in the MC, trapped by the Mists like everybody else but maybe tormented and angry ...

Re: Pre GC Bluetspur
Personally? I think Bluetspur is alien to the Core and shouldn't be there in the first place. As of why the Mind flayers didn't dominate the core? Undead. Closed borders. Internal factions. The "GRAND PLAN! MWAHAHAHAHA" that needs 2-3 generations more. I'll be honest, I don't think it bel...

Re: Ravenloft's near future and Darklord ages
I agree, aging out is a lot less likely, but I think part of the point of the thread is that these character's will be dead by this point in time EVEN IF NOTHING ELSE KILLS THEM, and therefore replacements/heirs need to be found by this point if not before

Pre GC Bluetspur
Pre-GC Bluetspur It's been pointed out several times, in several different places, and I apologize if this has already been discussed, but... Why didn't the mind-flayers of Bluetspur conquer the core? or even attempt it? The black box says the culture of Bluetspur is probably unlike any other illith...

Re: Ravenloft's near future and Darklord ages
Jaquelline and Louise would be old women now (even with the reduced aging). Jules Weathermay probably dead from old age, same as sir Hiregaard (again, even with the reduced aging). Ivan Disilnya is either dead from old age or 80 years old. George weathermay is either dead from monsters or too old t...
