Re: Horror's Harvest sequel idea
I absolutely loved Horror's Harvest and think that, despite this being your April Fools prank, the ideas mooted are fantastic. To be fair, the first paragraph of my post is completely true, and I came up with the sequel idea as a legitimate thing to do to my players. I thought "what if the Dop...

Horror's Harvest sequel idea
In my 2E campaign, I'm doing a highlights-of-Ravenloft-chronology-tour, focusing on the Conjunction and Van Richten's career. The PCs are happy to be periodically joined by the famous hunter as they lack a thief PC, and his latest visit was to the old Dungeon module Horror's Harvest, to help deal wi...

Re: Ship of Horrors....Help!
Not sure how much this will help, but I recently ran Last Dance (from an old Dungeon Magazine) and something I did might work for you. Short bit of context: A serial killer who preserves her victims as segmented marionettes forever acting out a grand ball she pretends to host is killed and her spiri...

Re: Power checks: a character's descent.
Minor update: in our last session (where we just started Touch of Death), the Cleric player proudly announced "I can't do bad things like that, I'm Lawful Good!" and the rest of the group just sort of coughed and buried their faces in their character sheets. (My DMing style is that your al...

Re: Power checks: a character's descent.
Yeah, I'm taking some liberties. Part of it is the character's backstory is that he wasn't particularly religious until he "had a vision of the Morninglord" while getting jumped by some bandits and suddenly developing cleric powers (yeah, that's coming back to bite him later). One of the ...

Re: Power checks: a character's descent.
I need to reread/relisten (since it's an audio book) to my copy of Vampire of the Mists, but aren't Jander Susntar's (the inspiration for how to depict the Morninglord in Ravenloft) eyes gold, or possibly silver? I don't think they were red.... I could very well be wrong here just wanted to make su...

Just as a side note, the animated special is based off a book by Ray Bradbury of the same name.

Power checks: a character's descent.
I figured the folks around these parts would be amused by this. My group might be in the process of creating the next Elena Faith-hold. After a too-long hiatus, I've dragged my (2E) gaming group kicking and screaming back into the Mists. Armed with the raise dead scrolls from Night of the Walking De...

Re: Ravenloft Demographics out of whack?
I just assumed the Powers maintain a baseline population, "borrowing" people from elsewhere as needed to keep numbers stable while maintaining that gothic isolation feeling, and whammying the newcomers with a Darkonesque mindwipe. Heroes from other worlds trying to find a way back? Guess w...

Re: The Amber Wastes Cluster, Al-Qadim and a new Campaign
There was a semi-official Sage Advice in an old Dragon magazine asking what happened to Sha'ir and their gen in Ravenloft. Skip Williams stated that because gen must return, the Powers allow them to leave to fetch spells. What else about the Sha'ir concerned you?

The Best Homebrew Domain Ever!
The Lord: Cygna Carillon learned of the existence of monsters at an early age. As a teen, barely out of childhood, she was ambushed by a werewolf as she walked to her grandmother's cottage one evening. her life was saved by the appearance of a very charismatic and recently-turned vampire, whose radi...
