Re: Farewell to the Flesh and other RPGA Ravenloft Modules
Thanks @Mischief. I think most of us have gone through phases of trying to find rare modules and accessories over the last twenty years, it's the curse of being a DM committed to this setting. (I only wish I had focused my efforts more on these than on some of the nonsense modules around 2005 :-) An...

Re: Farewell to the Flesh and other RPGA Ravenloft Modules
Yeah, I don't envision anyone breaking the rules and sharing scanned versions without permission, nor would I want to be party to that. But I also know some members of this community talk with the authors and copyright holders about access from time to time. So if that ever bears fruit, that would b...

Re: Farewell to the Flesh and other RPGA Ravenloft Modules
Hi all, I see some of these RPGA modules on ebay today, but alas, someone richer than I wants Farewell to the Flesh badly. Did the community ever find or create electronic versions that someone could share or point me to? Much appreciated, my Carnival campaigns need this! I'm interested in the other...

Re: Ravenloft as a plane
I think a lot depends upon how much canon history of Ravenloft you want to keep in the backstory of your setting. Are you having Ravenloft move into the Prime Material after Strahd and Barovia get sucked in; after the Grand Conjunction; after lots of NPCs get sucked in from other worlds in the Prime...

Re: Artifact Idea - is this already a thing?
This is a great idea. I think my thoughts are more applicable to others stealing this idea, rather than being applicable to the original poster's campaign. But here they are, regardless: The first thing that I thought when I read this was that, if this tree is in Ravenloft, a Darklord might be able ...

Re: Darkonian Curse
I like all the ideas previously mentioned. Here are a few more: -- Do you have any players who are already familiar with the Darkon curse, from past campaigns or reading sourcebooks? If so it might be cool to make them think (out of character) that that is what's behind their present condition. But ...

Re: CONFIRMED: Ravenloft for 5th Edition
I'm very excited for this new material! Is anyone else struggling in deciding whether to try to play all these Adventurers League adventures at local game stores or conventions as they come out, or just to buy them and read them on your own, planning to DM them for your own game groups at your leisu...

Re: My gender-bending Barovia campaign!
The win was bittersweet for sure. We all knew that adventure would be the end of the campaign beforehand, and the players were expecting character deaths, which helped. But you're right, a lot of players would not be into that kind of ending to the game. IIRC the rest of the outlander PCs also escap...

Re: My gender-bending Barovia campaign!
Another great thing for Strahd to do to a male reincarnation of his beloved would be to seek out the Apparatus to separate the male and female/old and new parts. I know that Strahd's history with the Apparatus is... complicated... however, so that idea might not appeal to all DMs. It is always fun t...

Re: So..... Dracov's dead.
Interesting, Epically! With the darklord restricted to an underground area in one part of Falkovnia, are you going to have him maintain control over the entire domain? Reminds me of Arkandale pre-Grand Conjunction -- Nathan Timothy was restricted to one part of the domain, but was darklord of a much...

Re: Chasing a Rakshasa -- new campaign outline
... and I forgot an important detail in my last post. As they fought/escaped from the Mont-Claude estate, the PCs lifted some detailed maps of the Falkovnian border regions off of a dead Falkovnian soldier. These documents contained some information about troop movements, patrols, and fortifications...

SESSION 5 (April 2013) – Masquerade (subtitle: It’s a trap!) [So, Johanne’s player tells me that I have been spelling his character’s name incorrectly. It’s supposed to be “Johan,” and will be from here on.] Johan woke up the next day feeling terrible due to the mummy rot he contracted in the fight ...

Re: Handling the Language Barrier
An issue I sometimes struggle with is when players want to make Core-native PCs who are well traveled, but who are martial characters without high enough intelligence for multiple languages (or without enough skill/language/whatever points for multiple languages after they've fleshed out other neces...

Re: Religious Deception
Interesting thread! If this happened in a game I ran, I think I would let the PC pull it off for a while, but eventually I'd have the masquerade start to unravel somehow. Powers checks wouldn't have to be the cause of the unraveling (although they could be if you wanted them to be and if the priest ...
